According to Resolution No. 849 issued by the Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus in October 2016 and Resolution No. 77 issued in January 2017, Belarus will soon implement mandatory STB energy efficiency certification and energy efficiency labeling requirements for some electronic and electrical products.

1.       Controlled products and effective date:

 Summary of STB EE Energy Efficiency Certification

The regulated products listed in the table above need to comply with the Belarusian energy efficiency STB standard requirements or corresponding IEC/EN energy efficiency testing standards.

Energy efficiency labels and product manuals need to be provided in Russian.

All regulated products are in certification mode, except for the motor which is in declaration mode.

In certification mode, the factory is required to provide a valid CIG023 factory inspection report.

Conduct local market supervision and product spot checks at least once every 2 years after issuing the certificate.

Except for external power supplies in item 7 and household appliances and office equipment products in item 10 that do not require energy labeling, other regulated products require energy labeling on their products.

Starting from September 1, 2017, products using external power sources (such as laptops, mobile phones, etc.) must provide STB energy efficiency certification for the external power source before they can be sold in the Belarusian market.

If the STB energy efficiency regulated products also fall within the scope of EAC regulation, the STB energy efficiency certificate and EAC certificate must be provided before they can be imported for sale.
